Meet the Maker

Hi and welcome to The Cozy Tot! I am so glad you have found your way here!

"When each item is created, I am thinking about those sweet cuddles you will get with your newborn, the sleepy smile you will get picking your toddler up out of her crib after a long night, those fun adventures you will have together rolling around on the floor and climbing on the couch. I am a mother who adores those moments with my own toddler and knows just how special they are."

Over 20 years ago, I remember sitting in my great-grandmother's living room, ironing fabric pieces and watching her carefully sewing each piece together by hand. Over the course of a week, I would watch her sew this amazing, beautiful quilt by hand from start to finish. I gained so much respect for the time and effort that goes into, not only quilts, but all handmade items in general. Every inch of each quilt was looked over and touch and made with such care that hers have lasted for over 80 years. I would spend summers with her, learning how to sew, quilt, and embroider, all by hand with no machines with that same attention to detail. This is where I grew my passion for sewing. From picking fabric to designing my own patterns, the entire process is such a special and personal experience for me.
I started The Cozy Tot after the birth of my daughter in July of 2016 in a small town east of Dallas, TX. I personally know how exhausting it is trying to find unique items for your baby. The selection is not only limited, but extremely hard to find. I try to make the process of creating YOUR pinterest-worthy nursery as easy for you as possible by creating coordinating pieces on an easy to navigate website. Although I no longer hand-sew each item, I maintain that same level of quality and care because these items mean as much to me as they will to you and your baby. When each item is created, I am thinking about those sweet cuddles you will get with your newborn, the sleepy smile you will get picking your toddler up out of her crib after a long night, those fun adventures you will have together rolling around on the floor and climbing on the couch. I am a mother who adores those moments with my own toddler and knows just how special they are.
I believe every parent and every child should be able to have a unique and beautiful room that inspires them without breaking the bank. Because of this, I make my custom bedding affordable! In my search for keeping costs to you down, I design and hand-make each item myself (on my Brother Dreamweaver XE or Brother PQ 1500XL), I do my own advertising and product photography(on my Nikon D600 with studio lighting and handmade backdrops), and maintain my own website, all from the comfort of my garage. I run every aspect of The Cozy Tot to make sure we can continue to offer affordable pricing to you for your baby.
I keep most items in stock for fast shipping! Picking a theme for your nursery is such a huge decision and styles change so quickly. Once you finally pick what you want in your nursery, you need those key pieces shipped to you fast so you can build the rest of the nursery around it. I am so happy to be able to maintain stock to keep processing times low. Once an order is received, it ships in the timeframe listed on the item.
